Sharjah: Shreyas Iyer's 38-ball unbeaten 88 and Prithvi Shaw's aggressive half-century helped the Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in the Indian Premier League match played between a mountain of runs.
Delhi scored 228 runs for four wickets at Sharjah, the Aashgah of the batsmen, in response to which KKR could only manage 210 runs for eight wickets. For KKR, England's World Cup winners Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi added 78 runs for the seventh wicket to keep the team in the match but the result was clear after Morgan was dismissed in the 19th over and then Tripathi in the next over.
Morgan scored 44 runs in 18 balls with the help of five sixes and a four. At the same time, Tripathi added 36 runs in 16 balls with three fours and three sixes.
