Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the inauguration ceremony of vigilance and anti-corruption national conference through video conferencing. The theme of this year's conference is vigilant India and prosperous India. During this, PM Modi said that today I am going to mention another big challenge before you. This challenge has been gradually growing in the past decades and has taken a formidable form in front of the country. This challenge is - dynasty of corruption ie corruption transferred from one generation to another.
Speaking at the conference, PM Modi said that due to this it has become a part of the political tradition in many states. This dynasty of corruption that goes on from generation to generation makes the country hollow like a termite.
PM Modi said that in the past decades, we have seen that when one generation of corruption does not get the right punishment, then the other generation does corruption with more power. He sees that when nothing happens to the crores of crores of rupees in the house, his spirits get further boosted.
At the same time, he said that now the benefit of the poor through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) is reaching 100 percent directly to the poor. Due to DBT alone more than 1 lakh 70 thousand crore rupees are being saved from going into wrong hands. Today it can be said with pride that the country has left that era of scandals behind.
Speaking at the conference, PM Modi said that corruption, economic crime, drugs, money laundering, terrorism or its funding are all interlinked. So we have to work together systematically against corruption, effective audit and capacity building and training.
