Security agencies are gearing up for the peaceful conclusion of the first ever District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Security agencies suspect that Pakistan is trying to infiltrate the terrorists through three drains along the border with Samba sector of Jammu. In view of this, sensors are now being installed along the side of these drains. Along with this, a decision has been taken to monitor the places suspected of intrusion with drone cameras.

Security agencies tighten to make DDC elections peaceful

A senior security agency official said that the infiltration of militants has already become difficult due to the promptness of security forces along the Line of Control attached to the Kashmir Valley. Last week, security forces also demolished several launchpads located in PoK in retaliation. But Pakistan has prepared a new launchpad for infiltration of terrorists to disrupt the ground level elections for the first time since the end of Article 370. According to him the latest launchpad has been built at Sukumal across the border in the Samba sector. Four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed killed in Nagrota were sent from this launchpad.

Three drains of Samba sector will be monitored for 24 hours by drone

The agencies suspect that Pakistan is using the Baine, Babbar and Basantar drains to infiltrate the terrorists. As such, surveillance systems have been made on these drains to detect intruders. But it seems inadequate to accurately identify the intruder. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's high-level review meeting on Friday, it was decided to further strengthen the surveillance apparatus along the border with Jammu. Under this, the number of electronic sensors is being increased in places where fences are not installed. Along with this, it has also been decided to monitor them with a drone.

The senior official said that these drains will be monitored with a drone for 24 hours at least until the DDC election. Prime Minister Modi made it clear to the security agencies that the intention of Pakistan to disrupt the democratic process started at the lower level with the help of violence is not to be successful at any cost. All necessary steps should be taken for this. Apparently, following the instructions of the Prime Minister, the security agencies have started trying to stop all the intrusions.
