In this encounter, 134 battalions of CRPF and police of Palamu were involved. Seeing the increasing pressure of the police in the encounter, the Naxalites fled. In the search operation conducted after the encounter, the police force has found a large amount of Naxalite material including an AK-47, nine mm pistol, bolt rifle, wireless set, magazine, bullet.

Palamu SP Sanjeev Kumar has confirmed the encounter. The police had received information that JJMP members were frozen to collect the levy in the area of ​​Salimdiri. In light of this information, on Thursday, the team of CRPF 134 battalion and the team of Palamu police started anti-Naxal operations. It was told that as soon as the jawans involved in the operation reached Salimdiri forest, the already frozen JJMP militants started targeting and targeting the police, in response the police also fired. Seeing the police falling heavily, the militants managed to escape by taking advantage of the forest.

According to the police, the team was stopped under the leadership of Naxalite Commander Vikas at Salimdiri of Panki. The security forces laid siege to the area since Wednesday as the police had strong information about the Naxalite levy amount coming to Salmidiri village.
