WHO said- 'Heard immunity' is unlikely even after vaccine, situation worsens again in China

No herd immunity in 2021: WHO has said that even though many countries have started vaccination, there is still no possibility of 'herd immunity'.

12th January, 2021

Emergency and mass vaccination (Covid-19 Vaccine) has been started in many countries of the world against Coronavirus. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) has shocked everyone by saying that in the wake of the mutated corona virus and the world conditions, there is no possibility of 'herd immunity' anywhere in the world. On the other hand, due to Corona virus in China, the period of lockdown has been extended. Also, a large political conference to be held in the province close to Beijing was also postponed.

Actually, the residents of Gu'an city, located in the south of Beijing, have been instructed to stay indoors from Tuesday. This instruction is for seven days, which has been implemented in various provinces across the country, especially in Wuhan. After the onset of the epidemic in Wuhan last year, 11 million people were locked in homes under lockdown for 76 days. He also postponed the meeting of the People's Congress and its Advisory Body to be held in February every year in Hebei. It is not clear yet when this political conference will be held again. Last year, the National People's Congress and its advisory meeting to be held in China in March was deferred till May. Its session duration was reduced. The Provincial Health Commission of Hebei reported 40 new cases on Tuesday.

WHO expressed disappointment

In a media briefing on Monday, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan said that in the near future many countries will have to rely on other physical measures, including physical distance, to prevent the spread of corona. In recent weeks, other countries, including Britain, the United States, France, Canada, Germany, Israel, and the Netherlands, have started vaccinating Corona on their citizens. Swaminathan said that even if the vaccine starts protecting sensitive people, in 2021 we will not be able to develop herd immunity. Even if it happens in places or some countries, it is not going to protect people around the world. According to the scientist, herd immunity usually requires about 70% vaccination rate. This makes the whole population safe against any disease, but the corona is quite contagious, in such a situation that some believe that 70 percent will not be the case for it.

WHO Director-General's advisor, Dr. Bruce Ileward, said that the United Nations health agency was hoping that the corona virus vaccination could begin at the end of this month or in February in some of the world's poorest countries. The global community called for more efforts to ensure vaccines reach all countries. He said that WHO needs the cooperation of vaccine manufacturers especially to start vaccination of vulnerable population.

China issued new instructions,
local officials said that more than 300 cases of Kovid-19 have been reported after a wedding ceremony. A new infection case has come to light in Beijing. With this, the total number of infected in the country so far has increased to 87,591 and the number of deaths is 4,634. In view of the situation of infection, citizens have been instructed not to travel. Instructions have been given to close schools. Apart from this, it has been asked to speed up testing.

Scientists from the World Health Organization will arrive in China on Thursday and investigate the reasons for the onset of infection in late 2019. During a news briefing in Geneva, WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanam Ghebresus informed that scientists from different countries will find out how the Kovid-19 infection spread. He said, 'The source of this epidemic will be investigated in Wuhan.
