Comedian Munavwar Farooqui in Indore jail will increase difficulties, UP police issued production warrant

The production warrant has been served by the Prayagraj police in Indore CJM Court and Central Jail. An FIR was lodged against Munawar Farooqui on 19 April 2020 at the George Town police station in Prayagraj.

Standup comedian Munawwar Faruqi, who is locked up in Indore Jail, may face difficulties due to indecent remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah and Hindu deities. In a year-old case, Prayagraj Police has issued a production warrant against Munawar Farooqui. Prayagraj police has served production warrants at Indore CJM Court and Central Jail. An FIR was lodged against Munawar Farooqui at George Town police station in Prayagraj on 19 April 2020. A young man named Ashutosh Mishra has filed this FIR.

SHO Shishupal Sharma of George Town Police Station said that on 19 April 2020, a case was registered against Munawar Farooqui for inciting religious sentiments. Farooqui uploaded a controversial video on YouTube. The video made fun of Hindu deities and Hindus who died in the Godhra train carnage. Also, the role of RSS and Home Minister Amit Shah was also questioned in the riots in Gujarat. At present, the crime branch is investigating this case.

This is the whole case 

It may be noted that Farooqui and four other stand-up comedians were arrested on 1 January in Indore for insulting Hindu deities and violating the Kovid-19 protocol at a New Year event. After this, Farooqui applied for bail in the court, but his bail petition was rejected. After the bail was dismissed, Farooqui filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. After which the court on January 15 postponed the hearing on Farooqui's bail till next week.
