Union Budget Mobile App: Union Budget Mobile App Launched, Now Every Update On Your Phone, Know What's Special

The process of compiling budget documents started on Saturday with the holding of the traditional halwa ceremony. The function was attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur, and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance.

In the midst of the Corona crisis, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the General Budget for the year 2021-22 in Parliament on 1 February. Before the budget, the Finance Minister on Saturday launched the Union Budget Mobile App to provide convenience to the people. With the introduction of the budget mobile app, MPs and common people will be able to get budget documents digitally without any hassle. In this mobile app, 14 central budget documents prescribed by the constitution including annual financial statement (budget), demand for grant (DG), finance bill etc. will be made available. Budget documents will be available on this mobile app after the completion of the budget speech.

As soon as the app was launched, it was told from where it can be downloaded. It was told that it can be downloaded from the App Store, as well as this app can also be downloaded from the Union Budget web portal (India Budget dot gov.in).

What's in the app

Many features have been provided in the Union Budget mobile app, including downloading, printing, search, zoom in, zoom out. This app has been developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) under the guidance of the Department of Economic Affairs.

Budget documents will not be printed for the first time

Before this, publication of budget documents started every year by organizing Halwa ceremony. This will be the first time when budget documents will not be published. The Finance Ministry said in a statement, that as an unprecedented initiative, the Union Budget 2021-22 will be available to the people in a digital way for the first time.
