Vaccination campaigns against the coronavirus continue apace. So far more than 1 crore of 8 lakh Covid vaccine doses has been applied in the country. The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday that a total of 1,08,38,323 doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country. 72,26,653 doses have been given to health workers. The first dose has been given to 63,52,713 beneficiaries while the second dose has been given to 8,73,940 beneficiaries. The number of people who have been given Covid vaccine so far includes 70.52 lakh health workers and about 33.97 lakh frontline workers.

Guleria stated the need for private-public partnership 

According to news agency PTI, Randeep Guleria, director of AIIMS, Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences, said on Saturday that vaccine is the only available weapon to increase immunity against the corona epidemic and reduce mortality from infection. Much still remains to be done in the direction of vaccination. He said that I believe that more and more private-public partnerships are needed for a comprehensive vaccination campaign against the corona epidemic.

Harshvardhan's appeal to get vaccinated

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has appealed to health workers and frontline workers to get the vaccine as per schedule. They have stated that the vaccine is completely safe and meets all standards of immunity. There is no need to pay attention to any rumors regarding the vaccine. He said on Friday that no case of serious or very serious effects of vaccination has been reported and no one has died due to vaccine.

Increased cases in Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Punjab 

Meanwhile, corona infection has started increasing rapidly in many states of the country. The rising figures of corona infection in Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh are surprising. Around 14,000 new cases of corona infection were reported for the first time on Saturday after the last 22 days. According to the Union Ministry of Health, more than 100 people have died of corona infection in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, more than six thousand new cases have been found in Maharashtra while in Kerala about five thousand new cases have been found. Madhya Pradesh is witnessing an increase in corona cases since 13 February.
