The Editors Guild of India has criticized the Andhra Pradesh government. The state's ruling YSR Congress imposed an 'undisclosed ban' on two Telugu news channels on Wednesday. To this, the Editors Guild protested that the state system should not create a situation where the independence of constitutionally mandated media representatives is compromised.
Along with this, the Editors Guild of India said in its statement that it is disturbing that the Andhra Pradesh government has imposed an 'undisclosed ban' on TV 5 and ABN.
Attack on media freedom-
The Editors Guild was completely infuriated by the state government when the TV news channel was banned. Criticizing the YSR Congress, the guild said that such restrictions hit the core of media freedom. The guild urges the Andhra Pradesh government to clarify whether they are somehow responsible for stopping the telecast of these two television channels.
At the same time, the guild asked the state government not to create a situation where the independence of constitutional and legally mandated media representatives is compromised.
