At least three people were killed and several feared trapped after a wall collapsed in Bihar's Bhagalpur following heavy rains in the state, news agency ANI reported on Sunday.
Rains also lashed the state's capital city of Patna and waterlogging reported from Rajendra Nagar, according to ANI. Teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the city to rescue residents and animals stuck on flooded streets.
Patna had witnessed a heavy downpour on Saturday, causing traffic jams and water-logging in several parts of the city. The incessant rain also led to water-logging on the railway tracks in Bihar prompting authorities to divert, reschedule or cancel several trains plying on the route.
The district administration has the ordered closure of all schools till Tuesday.
