Budget airline AirAsia India has announced to add 17 more aircraft to its fleet in the current financial year, with the airline already having 23 aircraft. AirAsia India COO Sanjay Kumar said that for five years we have flown domestically with 23 aircraft and now we expect to get the relevant clearance for the international operations plan. We are adding about 17 aircraft to our fleet by FY 19-20.
The airline plans to connect domestic destinations to establish its strong presence in the northern and southern parts of India. We are planning to expand our network in the country. Started additional flights from New Delhi to Kolkata from 20 September and are now starting flights from New Delhi to Jaipur and Agartala.
In August, the airline launched daily flights between New Delhi and Chennai and currently AirAsia India has a fleet of 23 aircraft covering 20 destinations across the country.
