The month of September has also been negative for the auto sector in terms of sales. Despite all efforts, this sector is not able to recover from the recession. Maruti Suzuki has recorded a big decline in September.
Maruti Suzuki sales were down 24.4 percent year-on-year to 1.22 lakh units in September. The company had a total sales of 1.62 lakh units in September 2018. In September last year, the company exported 8,740 units. But in September this year, this graph has come down to 7,188 units.
Maruti's domestic sales fell 24.8 percent year-on-year to 1.15 lakh units in September. The company's total domestic sales stood at 1.53 lakh units in September 2018. Meanwhile, Maruti's passenger car sales fell 31.5 percent year-on-year to 78,979 units in September. The company's passenger car sales stood at 1.15 lakh units in September 2018.
At the same time, sales of Bajaj Auto also decreased by 20 percent in September. Bajaj Auto's total sales in September stood at 4.02 lakh units. Whereas in September 2018, the company's total sales were 5.02 lakh units. At the same time, Bajaj Auto's domestic sales in the month of September decreased by 31 percent to 2.15 lakh units on an annual basis. Total domestic sales of the company in September 2018 was 3.11 lakh units.
If you look at the Bajaj bike sales figures, the total sales in September are 3.36 lakh units. Whereas in September 2018, the company had sold a total of 4.30 lakh units. On this basis, Bajaj's bike sales fell by 22 percent in August.
Now all the hopes of auto companies are set on the festive season. Maruti has reduced the prices of some cars by up to Rs 5000 with the opening of the festive season. At the same time, other companies are offering all kinds of offers to increase sales.
