According to the news of Pakistani TV channel Geo News, Turkish President Rajab Tayyab Erdogan made this announcement in a program on Sunday. The report quoted the President of Turkey as saying, "I hope that Pakistan will benefit from this war ship being provided by Turkey."
The Pakistan Navy had signed an agreement in July 2018 to procure four warships of the Milgem class from Turkey. According to Erdogan, Turkey is among the 10 countries in the world that can build, design and maintain warships using national capability.
Turkish President Rajab Tayyab Erdogan raised the Kashmir issue during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly last week. Turkey is the only Muslim country that criticized India and supported Pakistan when Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir. The President of Turkey had said that the current situation in Kashmir may increase tensions. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan also thanked the President of Turkey for raising the issue of Kashmir in the General Assembly.
PM Modi's strong message
India has prepared to respond to Turkey at the diplomatic level. This was seen in New York last week. PM Modi met with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiyades. Apart from this, PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with Armenia Prime Minister Nicole Pashinyan. Through negotiations, he has tried to give a hint to Turkey that if he supports Pakistan then he can get his answer.
Pressure on turkey
History has shown that Cyprus and Armenia's relations with Turkey have not been good. In the early 20th century, Armenia accused Turkey of killing its citizens in large numbers. In 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus. Therefore, there is a dispute over the possession of an island in both countries.
