21st February, 2020

A crowd of people gathered at the petrol pump after a fake message went viral on social media in Pakistan. People were seen standing in long queues at several petrol pumps in Karachi. Actually, the people of Karachi became victims of fake messages reaching people through social sites. Television presenter and blogger Alina Farooq Sheikh shared a video of Karachi, in which long lines of vehicles can be seen at a petrol pump. To further illustrate this, he wrote along with the video that 'Petrol Surthe Hall in Karachi.'

At the same time, Nemat Khan, a journalist from Karachi, shared a screen shot of viral fake messages on the social site site and also informed the citizens about the fake message. He wrote in his post that this message has been received from many numbers. The person who wrote it for the first time took up his responsibility to mislead others and created the situation that people in Karachi are seen standing in long queues at the fuel stations.

However, none of the oil marketing companies in Pakistan have announced the closure of petrol supplies till now. At the same time, 'Urdu News' was told by the spokesperson of Pakistan State Oil that there is plenty of petrol at fuel stations in all areas of Karachi. The PSO has fuel reserves. The spokesperson of PSO, the organization having 23 fuel storage centers across the country, said that continuous supply of petrol is going on from the company's Zulfikarabad terminal. Citizens should not be disturbed. There is no scarcity of petrol in the country and our supply line is working 24 hours.

In fact, many people have died due to leakage of poisonous gas in the areas near the sea of Karachi. At the same time, after dozens of city residents were affected by this, the oil companies stopped work at their fuel storage centers in the area of Kimari. After this, rumors started spreading that petrol pumps are being shut down in the city.
