The next phase of the knowledge program will begin, the Ministry of Human Resource Development gets ready
Now under this program, only teachers studying in foreign universities are called India
Arvind Pandey, New Delhi. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has also decided to send Indian teachers to universities around the world under the Global Initiative of Academic Network (Gyan) program. The ministry has started preparations to implement this next phase of the knowledge program.
Till now only foreign teachers were called to India under this program.
At present, only foreign teachers are called to India under this program. Foreign teachers work for a fixed time in higher educational institutions of the country. More than 800 foreign teachers came to India under the program last year.
Teachers will go to the countries where most Indian students are studying
Under the next phase of the knowledge program, proposals have been sought from the teachers of Indian higher educational institutions who are willing to teach for some time in foreign institutions. However, Indian teachers will be sent only to those countries or institutions where the maximum number of Indian students are currently studying and demand has come from the institutions there. In this context, the demand for teachers of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), etc. is the highest.
If the knowledge program is successful, then a new path will be opened for Indian teachers abroad
The government believes that if the new phase of the knowledge program was successful, a new path would be opened for Indian teachers abroad. They will be able to understand the study pattern (study pattern) of foreign institutes, which will later be helpful in standing their institutions at the same level.
The process of calling foreign teachers has become easier
Earlier any university or institute had to take permission at the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Ministry level to call foreign teachers or send their teachers abroad. Institutions used to have a bad time in this. They also had to go through a long process. After the introduction of the knowledge program, the process of calling foreign teachers became easier.
Intriguing the process of going abroad in front of Indian teachers continues
Interested institutions now only have to request for it online which is sent directly to the concerned institute. Later their schedule is decided based on the availability of teachers. However, the complexity of going abroad for teaching work in front of the Indian teachers is intact, which will be resolved through the new phase of the knowledge program.
