The government will expand the Rurban scheme to equip villages with amenities like cities, under which it has been decided to create a total of more than one thousand clusters in the next three years. A provision of five thousand crore rupees has been made for the operation of the scheme. Its purpose is to prevent the migration of people from villages. Under this, there is a plan for the overall development of villages. This scheme of NITI Aayog has been approved by the government. All the states have been appealed to come forward and participate.
Force to speed up the mission appeals to all states to come forward
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission (SPMRM) was fully reviewed after four years. So far, three hundred clusters have been selected under the mission. In most, the development process has started. Only after their success, it is being considered to be further enhanced. There are increasing signs of urbanization such as increasing urban density, high levels of non-agricultural employment, increasing economic activity and other socio-economic scales. The mission aims to provide a new impetus to economic development at the local level, with a major change in these by increasing basic services and creating well-organized rural clusters. This will lead to the overall development of the region and will promote integrated and inclusive rural development.
