In the past 24 hours 738 people have died in Spain due to the corona epidemic. Thus the number of dead in Spain has increased to 3,434. The figure currently stands at 3,281 in China. Italy has the highest number of 6820 deaths so far while 69,176 people are infected. This is the situation in Spain when there has been a lockdown for the last 11 days. The number of infected in the country has increased to 47,610. Talking about the number of dead in the whole world, this figure has reached 19,751. The number of infected persons has increased to 4,40,318.
Madrid is most affected
Spain's capital city is most affected by the epidemic. The number of people infected there is 14,957. This is one third of the total number of infected persons. Talking about deaths in Madrid, 1,825 people have died so far. This is 53 percent of the total deaths in the country. The number of infected people saw a jump of 20 percent on Tuesday alone after the corona test accelerated. Whereas in the same period, the number of dead was increased by 27 percent.
How effective the lockdown will be soon
Emergency Coordinator Fernando Simon said that we are reaching the peak of the effects of the epidemic. Health officials say it will soon become clear how much the lockdown is benefitting from fighting the epidemic. Spain is also seeing a shortage of hospitals compared to patients. To deal with this, the Army has built a large field hospital at the Madrid Exhibition Center. This hospital has 1,500 beds, which can be increased to 5,500 beds.
