COVID-19: Corona Positive cases increasing due to administration lapse in Bihar

A team of doctors was stationed at Patna Airport for screening people coming from abroad from March 3, but till March 15, only 27 people were scanned.

4th April, 2020

Even after the coronavirus was knocked out in India, the administration made a big mistake in taking samples of people coming from abroad and isolating them at Patna Airport. If people from foreign countries were sampled at the airport after taking samples at the airport, it would not have come this way. In Bihar, it is possible that in case of positive cases, the increase is not recorded. Corona was able to break the chain and spread to the lowest level. However, if Bihar Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar is to be believed, he says that all the people who came to Bihar from abroad and from other states should be investigated in the way. There is no best practice in it. A team of doctors was stationed at Patna Airport for screening people coming from abroad from March 3, but by March 15, only 27 people could be scanned. When Corona started to spread rapidly in the country, the Crisis Management Group, headed by the Chief Secretary of the Bihar government, woke up. On March 15, the administrative and health team went to Patna Airport. After meeting with the airlines officials from the airport, it was decided that from March 16, all those who come to Patna from abroad will be scanned. With this, they will be asked to stay on the quarantine. For this reason, from March 16 till the lockdown came into force, that is, till 11 o'clock on the night of March 24, about 1100 people were scanned, but no sample was taken. In recent times, the Health Department has also decided that all those who have come from abroad will be sampled. After landing at Patna Airport, all the samples are taken and they are kept in Patna till the report comes, then it is possible that the increase in the number of positive cases is not recorded. At the same time, it is also true that the symptoms of this virus appear from the 5th to the 14th day. Positive cases in Bihar started meeting on 22 March and he affirms that samples of people from outside the state were not taken and the suspects were not kept on isolation. There have been 30 positive cases in Bihar from March 22 to April 2. Out of these, the travel history of all the patients except the young man of Patna City is from abroad. The young man from Patna City came from Gujarat. He has recovered. Looking at Saif Ali's chain of Munger, he landed at Patna Airport via Qatar from Delhi and reached home on 12 March. Three to four days after arrival, he was admitted to a hospital in Munger. Then on 21 March, he died in AIIMS, Patna. The next day on 22 March his report came back positive. This young man gave infection to 13 people he came in contact with and his report has come out positive. Phulwari Sharif's youth Rahul lived in Scotland. He reached Patna Airport from Scotland on 19 March. On 20 March he went to AIIMS. After this he was again taken to NMCH on 21 March. Two days later, his report also came back positive. Its chain ended but the WHO had to struggle hard for three kilometers of the village. The woman from Gaya reached home with her husband from Dubai on 22 March. She too got infected with Carona from Dubai itself. When his sample was taken in Gaya, he turned positive. By March 24, the possibility of positive increase in the positive case of those coming to Patna Airport is being raised. The operation of the aircraft was banned from twelve o'clock on the night of 24 March. By 24, the results of the sample test of people from abroad are likely to come by the first week of April.
