The political difficulties of the Congress have increased with the inclusion of fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi from Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. Experts say that the Congress, which has surrounded the Modi government so far, will be difficult to answer on this issue. The BJP on Saturday directly alleged that Mehul had given huge amount to the foundation. The amount was given by Mehul-owned company Naviraj Estates Private Limited. At present, the amount given was not known yet.
The choke that surrounded the circle now itself
The accusation made by BJP President JP Nadda about Mehul Choksi has increased the political stir. Let me tell you that diamond merchant Mehul Choksi has escaped from the country by looting crores of rupees, including Punjab National Bank. After its absconding, the Congress had been blaming the Modi government for a long time. Rahul Gandhi himself has been directly attacking the Prime Minister by taking the name of Mehul. In such a situation, the Congress appears politically besieged by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation's association with Choksi. According to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation's 2013-15 report, Mehul had donated through his company.
Rajiv Gandhi Foundation is like a mask company: Malviya
Congress trouble has increased after the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received donations from China and its relationship with China's alleged intelligence organization, China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAFIC). BJP's national social media in-charge Amit Malviya alleged that the information so far proves that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation was acting like a shell (mask) company. In order to give government protection, long money was collected from public sector companies, foreign companies and governments in its name. Started from the year 1992, this institution has benefited only more than 2900 people in the last 18 years. The work of this institution in the early years is not known.
Public sector companies also donated a lot
The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, which became a bogey issue between the BJP and the Congress, also gave generous donations to public sector companies. Between 2004 and 2014, the foundation continued to receive donations from the UPA government. It is not known how much this amount was, but it is definitely that many companies gave large amount every year. Among the companies that have generously donated are ONAGC, SAIL, GAIL, Stay Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, HUDCO, IDBI, among others.
