Honduran authorities are investigating the death of Wualys Suseth Fuentes Aquino, 23, who held the title of viceroy of Miss Universe Tegucigalpa 2026.

The young woman was found lifeless in the apartment where she lived in the country's capital, a fact that has generated consternation in the area of ​​beauty pageants and among citizens.

According to local media such as the newspaper La Tribuna, the discovery occurred after close people lost contact with the young woman and alerted the authorities. Police teams and Forensic Medicine personnel went to the scene to remove the body and begin the corresponding procedures.

The Forensic Medicine spokesperson reported that the cause and manner of death remain under study, since the results of specialized analyzes are still awaited, including laboratory tests and histopathology.

Likewise, he pointed out that, preliminarily, the body did not show obvious signs of violence or abuse, so it will be the legal medical opinion that will establish the causes of death.

After the autopsy, Fuentes' remains were handed over to her relatives to be transferred to the department of Comayagua, where she will be laid to rest and later buried.

The news caused multiple expressions of regret on social networks from friends, family and people linked to beauty pageants, who highlighted the charisma and career of the young woman.

So far, authorities have not confirmed the cause of death and are keeping the investigation open. It is expected that the results of forensic studies will clarify the circumstances of the death in the coming days.
