120 hours of hand embroidery: Everything about Shakira's wardrobe in the World Cup final
The Barranquilla artist wore a two-piece set custom made by the Roberto Cavalli fashion house with more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals.
Shakira once again made history on sporting stages by headlining the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. For this emblematic presentation, the Colombian singer entrusted her image to the prestigious Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli, which made a dazzling custom creation designed by Fausto Puglisi, creative director of the brand and close friend of the artist.
The outfit, which at first glance appeared to be a flowy dress, consisted of a meticulous two-piece ensemble. The upper part was made up of a second-skin effect bodysuit in nude mesh, characterized by a pronounced crossover neckline with laces and side slits.
This garment required two full weeks of artisanal production and more than 120 hours of manual work to attach, one by one, more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals.
The lower part stood out for a skirt draped using the moulage technique, made of embroidered satin chiffon and finished with long fringes in warm tones that, with each movement of the singer, simulated a colorful flame effect.
The color palette combined fuchsia pink, orange, yellow and golden sparkles, based on the Ray of Sunset print, designed exclusively for the Barranquilla woman. As Puglisi revealed, the inspiration behind these colors arose from the traditional architecture of the La Condesa neighborhood in Mexico City, where the facades combine bright hues at dusk.
The design was an adaptation of Cavalli's Resort 2025 collection, adapted to guarantee the star's mobility and freedom of dance. Likewise, the outfit functioned as a nostalgic nod to the closing ceremony of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, an occasion in which Shakira wore an iconic fringe piece signed by the same Italian fashion house.
To complement the wardrobe, Shakira maintained her characteristic signature: loose hair with waves and volume, tanned and illuminated skin, shadows in pink tones with black eyeliner and a bright pink lipstick. As is customary in her most passionate appearances, the performer performed barefoot and wore a fuchsia pink microphone to match the outfit.
