The singer revealed that her pregnancy progressed normally, so she expected the delivery and birth of her daughter to be uncomplicated, but something happened in the final stages. Lidia revealed that a month before Sophia's birth, a cyst was detected in the baby's intestine, a condition that wasn't visible on ultrasound. Although the pregnancy was uneventful, after the birth, doctors had to operate on Sophia, discovering that the cyst was affecting her intestine. "They had to remove the cyst, and she was left with short bowel syndrome from birth, which meant she couldn't eat," explained Avila, who emphasized that, despite all the medical efforts, there was nothing more that could be done for her daughter. The doctors couldn't determine exactly what happened, but several theories were considered, such as the possibility that the organ had perforated, that there wasn't enough blood reaching it, or that a knot had formed and broken. Despite the diagnosis, Lidia remembers those moments with sadness, but also with the love she still holds for her daughter. “I tell my children, and they know that their little sister Sophia is in heaven, and we have pictures of her at home,” she shared. Sophia was born in March 2009 and passed away in September of that same year.at six months old. The singer, with her characteristic strength, spoke about how she has learned to live with that loss, although she has never been able to completely overcome it. In the interview, Lidia also reflected on the impact Sophia's death had on her personal life, especially on her marriage to Paulo Lauria.
