Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra qualified for the World Championship finals for the first time with a throw of 88.39m in his first attempt while Rohit Yadav also made it to the final. A medal contender, Chopra started in the Group A qualification and scored 88. Throw a throw of 39 meters. It was the third-best throw of his career. Rohit scored 80 in Group B.
