Memo Ochoa with the time against to play in the Liga MX
Guillermo Ochoa will not be the Queretaro goalkeeper, since the Queretaro board denied any approach with the five-time World Cup player
The goalkeeper of the Mexican national team, Guillermo Ochoa, is running out of time to find a team in the Liga MX, after the Gallos Blancos de Queretaro rejected any approach with the five-time World Cup player, leaving him with eight days of time to the experienced goalkeeper.
Once the sporting director of the Queretaro club, Alvaro de la Torre, denied any approach with the goalkeeper, he explained that as a free agent he can sign with any team he wants in the Liga MX until September 12.
"We only saw it as a simple rumor, we have not had any approach with Memo, but as a free agent he can sign with any team he wants in the days remaining until the closing of registrations. Without a doubt he is a great player, but he is not contemplated," said the manager of the Queretaro team.
Meanwhile, the outlook for Memo seems increasingly limited, because after rejecting the offer from Burgos of the Second Division of Spain, as well as the Pumas of the UNAM, the option of playing for Mazatlan and Queretaro was discussed, but the reality is that there were not even approaches.
Now the historic World Cup goalkeeper who defended the Tricolor goal as a starter in Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, in addition to assisting as a substitute for Oswaldo Sanchez and Jesus Corona in Germany 2006 and for Oscar “Conejo” Perez in South Africa 2010, which placed him in the temple of players with five World Cups.
What can happen with Memo
Memo Ochoa has a very bleak outlook for his future, because if there is no agreement in the Liga MX until September 12, he will have to turn his batteries towards Arab football and thus have the option of remaining active so that the coach of the Mexican national team Javier Aguirre continues to take him into account.
But the fact of not being registered in a Liga MX team plays into his future to be included among the three goalkeepers who will participate in next year's World Cup to be held in Mexico, the United States and Canada, because he will not be able to attend the micro-work cycles that the Tricolor coaching staff has scheduled and everything will be reduced to the FIFA dates remaining before June 11, when the 2026 World Cup will begin.
