Hirving Lozano was, at times, one of the greatest exponents of Mexican football in Europe. “Chucky” went from being a key piece in Napoli's Serie A title, to being completely excluded from San Diego FC. Lozano continues with his punishment.
The Mexican soccer player was separated from San Diego FC due to internal problems. Several transfer periods have passed and Lozano remains linked to the American institution. His value falls and his career continues with a gray outcome.
Hirving Lozano has not played an official match since November 2025. The last time “Chucky” saw action with San Diego FC was in a semifinal match for the MLS Cup.
That match was against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Hirving Lozano played 45 minutes in which he was able to contribute a goal in San Diego's 1-3 defeat. 8 months later, Lozano has not seen a single minute with the team.
According to information from Transfermarkt, Hirving Lozano has a current contract with San Diego FC until December 2028. This has tied up the Mexican winger. The market value of “Chucky” is still around $3.8 million.
Liga MX did not come to the rescue
Many reports have linked Hirving Lozano with the Tuzos del Pachuca. However, recent reports have associated him as an alternative in Chivas de Guadalajara and Cruz Azul. However, none of the Liga MX clubs would be convinced of having him on their roster.
“Chucky’ Lozano was offered by Chivas de Guadalajara but the president and owner Amaury Vergara declined the proposal, because they do not want him on the team (…) they also did it to Cruz Azul, but in the celestial institution they prioritized having a healthy locker room in the Liga MX Apertura 2026,” details the TUDN report.
