Thunderstorms stop flights at airports in Southern California
Federal aviation authorities suspended flights shortly after 2:00 p.m.; air operations resumed around 4:45 p.m.
Thunderstorms forced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to suspend operations Monday afternoon at three major airports in Southern California.
Due to weather conditions, federal authorities stopped flights at Los Angeles International Airport Angeles (LAX) shortly after 2:00 pm, despite clear skies. Operations resumed around 4:45 pm The Long Beach airport and John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Orange County, remained closed until 4:00 pm
