Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahni address the press conference in Purnia, outlining promises and campaign strategies ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

In Purnia today, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and VIP supremo Mukesh Sahni held a press conference on the final day of campaigning for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that Bihar has not received adequate attention from the BJP-led government, with neither special state status granted nor significant industrial development in Seemanchal and Purnia. Promising change, Tejashwi declared plans to establish industry hubs in Seemanchal and Purnia if his party comes to power.

Tejashwi announced a special package of Rs 160,000 crore for Bihar, with each Lok Sabha constituency slated to receive Rs 4,000 crore. He pledged to waive electricity bills for consumption up to 200 units and restore the army's previous structure post the termination of the Agniveer service. Additionally, he promised to reduce the price of a gas cylinder to ??500, among other commitments made during the press conference.

Addressing questions about the legal challenges faced by him and his family, Tejashwi highlighted that the majority of the cases are targeted at him and his relatives, with frequent raids conducted by agencies like the ED and CBI. Responding to queries about recent incidents of violence during his roadshow, he maintained a composed stance, emphasizing the need for appropriate police action.

Expressing confidence in the India Alliance's prospects, Tejashwi asserted that the coalition would secure victory in all seats across Seemanchal. Meanwhile, VIP supremo Mukesh Sahni voiced optimism about Bima Bharti, a candidate from an extremely backward class background, winning from Purnia. Sahni dismissed BJP's electoral claims, labeling them as hollow.
