Increase: Honda and Acura recall 880 thousand vehicles in the US
A failure related to corrosion in the rear forced Honda and Acura to recall more than 880,000 vehicles in the United States
Thousands of Honda and Acura drivers in the United States should pay attention to a new safety campaign announced by the company. The measure involves more than 880,000 vehicles and is related to a corrosion problem that, under certain conditions, could affect key components of the rear suspension.

According to information presented to road safety authorities, certain vehicles could develop premature corrosion in a structural part located in the rear area of the chassis.
Problem linked to weather and salt on the roads
The campaign focuses mainly on states where low temperatures force the use of salt and other chemicals to prevent the formation of ice on the roads. Over time, these materials can accelerate the deterioration of some metal parts.
Honda explained that certain rear subframes were manufactured with insufficient corrosion protection in specific areas. As a consequence, the protective paint can peel off sooner than expected, leaving the metal exposed to humidity and corrosive agents present in the environment.
What risk does the failure represent?
Progressive wear can lead to cracks or weakening at mounting points related to the rear suspension. If the damage progresses, there is the possibility that some components lose structural rigidity, affecting the dynamic behavior of the vehicle.
Possible symptoms include strange noises from the rear, vibrations while driving or a different driving sensation than usual. Alterations could also occur in the alignment of the rear wheels.
Although the brand noted that as of May 2026, no injuries or deaths associated with this defect had been recorded in the United States, it decided to act preventively due to the potential safety risk.
The models involved
The review covers units manufactured between 2014 and 2023. The affected vehicles are:
In total, the campaign reaches more than 880 thousand vehicles sold or registered in regions where the use of salt for road treatment is common during the winter.
What owners should do
Honda will begin contacting owners of affected units to visit an authorized dealer. There, an inspection of the rear subframe will be carried out and, depending on the condition of the vehicle, different technical solutions will be applied.
Corrective actions may include installing reinforcements, specific repairs, or even complete subframe replacement when necessary. The company confirmed that all work related to this campaign will be carried out at no cost to the owners.
While notifications arrive, drivers can check if their vehicle is included in the recall by using the vehicle identification number (VIN) or by checking directly with Honda or Acura.
