Two people in Portland, Oregon, were injured in a shooting involving a Customs and Border Patrol agent, authorities said, a day after a woman was shot and killed by immigration agents in Minneapolis.

“These people are still alive and we hope “More positive news,” declared City Council President Elana Pirtle-Guiney at a City Council meeting. Details of the shooting remain unclear.

Portland police reported that at 2:24 pm they learned that a man who had been shot called for help near Northeast 146th Avenue and East Burnside. Responding officers found a man and a woman injured, apparently by gunshot wounds. Police confirmed the involvement of federal agents.

Authorities did not release the names of those injured. FBI officials in Portland reported that the shooting involved US Customs and Border Protection agents.

“I'm furious,” said Ward 1 Councilman Jamie Dunphy after the City Council meeting. “Two of my neighbors are in a hospital bed, and I hope they make it home.” The injured couple are a husband and wife, Dunphy said.
