Los Tuzos del Pachuca have hired great South American forwards throughout their history. The Mexican team had a young Enner Valencia in 2014. After his time in Europe, the Ecuadorian returned to Mexico. For Apertura 2026 he will not be with the team. Argentina would be his destination.

Enner Valencia arrived in Mexico in 2014. The Ecuadorian striker then forged a great career in Europe at clubs such as West Hampa United, Everton, Fenerbahce and a spell at Internacional in Brazil.

At 36 years old, Enner Valencia is looking for new goals. The South American forward ended his contract with Pachuca in July. After the 2026 World Cup, Valencia became a free agent and thus closed his cycle with the Tuzos. Valencia accumulated 47 games with Pachuca in which he was able to score 26 goals and grant 3 assists.

The destination would be Boca Juniors

Argentine soccer is a favorite place for Liga MX players and coaches. This could be Enner Valencia's new challenge. According to information from the newspaper Olé, Valencia would arrive at Boca Juniors.

“On Monday night Olé was able to access the name of the player targeted to reinforce the lead: Enner Valencia, the Ecuadorian three-time World Cup winner who has just been released after his time at Pachuca in Mexico and who played all four of his team's games in the World Cup,” reported the Argentine portal.

The report details that this is not an isolated approach. The Xeneize board and the player's entourage would have held talks to advance the hiring of the Ecuadorian. However, Boca Juniors should make some internal moves to make room for this hiring.

“The negotiation has been going on for days and the resolution regarding the quota of foreigners was pending, released by the sale also resolved this Monday of Marcelo Saracchi and now it remains to finish polishing details so that the 36-year-old scorer can wear the blue and gold,” the report adds.
