A man allegedly linked to the disappearance and murder of two American citizens was arrested by Mexican agents.
In a joint statement, Mexican security agencies explained that after several investigations, the agents located the subject in the south of Mexico City when he was handling various packages with narcotics, so the agents carried out a security review.
After the inspection, the agents seized forty doses of marijuana, twenty doses of cocaine, cash, a delivery-type backpack, a cell phone and a scooter.
According to security sources and local media, the arrested subject is Iván Lazcano Álvarez, 33, who is related to the investigation into the disappearance and subsequent homicide of American citizens Guillermo Jaffet Hidalgo Ortiz and Zafar Padamsee Mawani, which occurred on May 20.
The report recalled that during June seven people were captured in Mexico City and the State of Mexico allegedly related to the events.
Agents from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC) participated in the operation, as well as the Investigative Police of the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City.
