Bhediya Review: Wolves made of VFX are the real heroes here, weak story loosens the door of horror and thrill
In this film of Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee draws attention. VFX shines here more than the story. The writer-director seems to be more concerned than wolves about how the sequel of the film will be made and how its connection with the woman will be connected.
Varun Dhawan New Film: Hindi makers have started thinking of something new in the midst of continuous beating films, but they feel that they will save more heroes and VFX than the story because the audience does not come to watch the story. He worships the hero and is in awe of VFX. Amar Kaushik's new film Bhediya, which has made films like Stree (2018), is proof of this. But expect that the remaining misconceptions of the makers will also be cleared in the coming times. Rabies is not a new idea and neither is the story that a person turns into a wolf after being bitten by a wolf. It definitely seems new on the Hindi screen, but the director has trusted actors and VFX more than story and script here. Hence, the story of Bhediya becomes lame after a while and VFX saves the actors.
story and comedy
The story of the film is of Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan). He is a road constructor and has got a contract to build a long road in Ziro area of Arunachal Pradesh. He reaches there with his cousin Janardhan (Abhishek Banerjee). He has a friend in Ziro, Jobin (Palin Kabak). When friends meet, they sing a song first. Then Bhaskar explains to the local officials that instead of building a long road along the edge of the forest, it is beneficial for everyone to build a road through the middle of the forest. If money is saved, it will be distributed among all. Then one night the wolf bites Bhaskar. After this, every full moon night, Bhaskar turns into a wolf and kills and eats those who open the way for corruption in road construction. Even the big things were handled by director Amar Kaushik and writer Niren Bhatt. But when it came to detailing events, characters and logic, they were defeated. He turned things around.
money is the destination
In the story of Bhediya, there is a doctor, Anika (Kriti Sanon). She treats animals and she treats Bhaskar as well. Along with the cure, suddenly a word comes in the story, virus. This virus is none other than a wolf. The people of the path through which the road has to pass, worship the forest. They have their own gods and goddesses, beliefs and superstitions. He believes that viruses are the protectors of the forest. Whenever someone wants to harm the forest, they get angry and come out. Hides the enemies. But the writer-director is unable to explain that when everyone believes that bacteria are the protectors of the forest, then why does the local forest department want to kill these wolves, which have bacteria. Why do the people of the area see the spectacle of the kill wolf campaign of the forest guards. In the story it seems that the true love of the forests is with the wolves, not the people. The public does not show its power anywhere in this story. From here the story goes nowhere. After this, the writer-director is in a hurry to open the door for a sequel to Bhediya and fan the flames by mixing this idea with Stree (2018). Think that justice is not done to them with this story and there is further concern. In fact, this is the problem of Bollywood that it focuses more on how to open the next avenue of money making than cinema or audience.
new hairstyle and white sweater
If anyone has saved the wolf, it is VFX. Certainly it did not let the film look fake and it is only because of the VFX that you can believe that what is in front is real. Varun Dhawan's transformation into a wolf and the on-screen wolves are eye-catching. are world class. Varun Dhawan turns into a wolf with the help of VFX but he will have to work hard to transform himself into a good actor. Although Varun's upper form may be seen differently in films, but there is no diversity in his dialogue delivery. Abhishek Banerjee makes his place in many scenes, but his part has sloppy talk. Many times he tries to dominate Palin Kabak without giving her space. Even in Deepik Dobriyal, the old glow is not visible. While Kriti Sanon disappoints. Her character of Dr. Anika tries to bring a twist in the last minutes of the story, but turns out to be ridiculous. The twist is very fake. Kriti does not do anything new even at the level of acting. Yes, her hairstyle is new and the white sweater decorated with red-green-blue design worn in one scene is beautiful.
The role of jungle in the story,
the song-music and background music of the film is average. Bhediya's camerawork is good but one of its major problems is that most of the part is shot at night and you will get darkness on the screen. In such a situation, when this film is seen on TV or mobile screen, its fun will end. Jungle has a big role in this story, but the director has not been able to enhance it. Nor could the horror of the jungle come to the fore in this. The beauty of Arunachal Pradesh definitely emerges here and this is the positive side of the film. Had there been work on the story and script of Bhediya, it could have definitely become a watchable film. At the moment it cannot be said about it.
