Just a few days after its arrival on the Disney and Hulu streaming platforms, the film starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep was crowned with the biggest debut of a live-action film in the last two years.
This was achieved after registering 15.2 million views worldwide in its first five days of broadcast, as reported by The Wrap, citing data from Disney .
This viewing record is in line with the success at the global box office that has been recorded since its release in theaters on May 1.
Let us remember that, according to media such as “Box Office Mojo” and “Deadline”, it raised $220.6 million dollars in the United States and $691.4 million worldwide, exceeding the profits projected by its budget of $100 million dollars.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” features the long-awaited return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, in their original characters, while the production added personalities such as: Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, BJ Novak, among others.
The direction of the sequel, as in the first edition, is by David Frankel and its script belongs to Aline Brosh McKenna.
