Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo continues to grow his legend. The Al Nassr striker reached 950 official goals in his career after scoring in his team's victory over Hazem in the sixth round of the Saudi Arabian League.

The 40-year-old former Real Madrid player scored the goal in the 88th minute, after a quick counterattack led by Wesley, who assisted him on the right wing. With a first-time touch, the Portuguese sent the ball into the back of the net and sealed his team's victory.

So far, the Portuguese national team captain has 5 goals with Sporting Lisbon, 145 with Manchester United, 450 with Real Madrid, 101 with Juventus and 106 with Al Nassr. Added to that figure are the 143 goals for the national team, bringing the total to 950.

Jorge Jesus' team remains unbeaten in the league, with six wins in six matches. In addition to Ronaldo's goal, fellow Portuguese Joao Felix opened the scoring with a header from a cross from Ayam Yahya.

The 1,000-goal barrier: a historic milestone within reach

With this new mark, Cristiano Ronaldo is getting closer to a record that only a few legends have touched. Officially, no footballer has reached the 1,000 goals recognized by FIFA. However, in unofficial accounts, two names appear frequently: Pele and Arthur Friedenreich, both Brazilians.

Pele appears in the Guinness Book of World Records with 1,279 goals, although that figure includes goals in friends and youth matches. Friedenreich, for his part, is said to have scored 1,329 between 1909 and 1935, but there are no valid documents to support that total, so it is not officially recognized.

Taking into account only official records, Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player to reach 950 goals and the main candidate to inaugurate the exclusive 1000 club.
