Authorities recovered the body of a five-year-old girl this Thursday morning, who was swept away by the intense ocean current in Laguna Beach.
The news about the discovery of the minor occurs after the United States Coast Guard (USCG) announced on Wednesday night the suspension of the search, after more than 30 hours of work in which more than 90 square miles were covered in the attempt to find her.
Laguna Beach city officials reported that the girl's body was discovered during an aerial search early Thursday morning between 250 and 300 yards (228 and 275 meters) from shore in the Christmas Cove area.
