The hearing, which lasted more than seven hours, included the presentation of expert evidence, documents, video recordings, and a reconstruction of the homicide. After the proceedings, the judge ordered pretrial detention for the eight detainees, including seven of the mayor's bodyguards and "El Licensed." The defendants' lawyers requested an extension of the constitutional deadline, so their formal indictment will be decided next Wednesday, November 26.

One of Manzo's bodyguards remains at large, as confirmed on Saturday by the governor of Michoacan, Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla.
