The BSF immediately took charge of the sudden commotion and stopped more than 40 Bangladeshis trying to enter India. Actually, these Bangladeshis wanted to infiltrate India after the political turmoil in their country. But, our security jawans deployed at the border stopped them and drove them away without caring about the crowd.
Actually, BSF and local police have stopped many attempts of illegal border crossing in Bengal. On Wednesday, the BSF stopped 40 Bangladeshi nationals from crossing the border at three different places in Cooch Behar. After being pushed back, the Bangladeshis have camped within 150 yards of the zero point at Sangarbari, Mahishmuri in Sitalkuchi and Koimari in Sitai.
Preparation to enter India
Senior BSF officials tried their best to remove them. The army personnel had contacted Border Guard Bangladesh to remove them, but to no avail. Indian intelligence said that due to the ongoing political turmoil in the neighboring country, there has been a significant increase in infiltration attempts.
In a major action against cross-border infiltration, the police on Wednesday arrested five Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian broker in Nadia district of West Bengal. Based on a tip-off, a police team raided the house of Naseema Mandal (40), a local resident of Baro Chuparia village, where the illegal immigrants were allegedly taking shelter. According to police sources, The Bangladeshis had entered India illegally about a year ago and passed through several states including Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bihar before reaching Hanskhali on Monday. They are from Bangladesh's Narail, Jhenaidah, Jashore and Bagerhat districts.
