Microblogging website Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey on Monday resigned as the company's chief executive officer (CEO). After this, the company's board has announced the appointment of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Parag Agarwal as the new CEO of the company.

Dorsey said in a statement, "I have made the decision to leave Twitter because I believe the company is now ready to move on from its founders." Regarding Agarwal, Dorsey said that I have faith in Parag as CEO. His work here in the last 10 years has been phenomenal.

After his appointment, Parag Aggarwal said this about it, saying that I want to thank the board for reposing faith in me and in my leadership. I am grateful to Jack for his continued mentorship, support and participation. I look forward to building on the achievements the company has made under Jack Dorsey's leadership.
