At the same time, the deadline for the scheme of free ration has been extended by the government.

The deadline for the free ration scheme was extended by the Modi government in the month of March this year. At a cost of Rs 80,000 crore, 5 kg of food grains are being given free of cost to the poor by the government for six months. Earlier the last date of this scheme was 31 March 2022. However, in the month of March itself, it was extended till 30 September 2022. Along with this, people of poor section can take advantage of this scheme till the month of September this year.

The scheme of free ration was brought by the government to provide assistance to the poor people due to COVID-19. At the same time, about Rs 2.6 lakh crore has already been spent under this scheme in the last two years and in March this scheme was extended for six months. Due to this, another 80,000 crore rupees will be spent in this scheme.

Let us inform that in March 2020, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) has been launched by the Central Government to provide 5 kg of food grains per person per month free of cost to more than 80 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). ) was introduced.
