The term of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu will end on Wednesday. Earlier, a farewell ceremony was organized for him on Monday.

Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu was on Monday given a farewell in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top leaders. Naidu will step down on Wednesday and Jagdeep Dhankhar will take the oath of office and secrecy on August 11. Speaking at a program organized at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium of Parliament House to mark the farewell of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, PM Modi also recalled his initial days of meeting Naidu. He said that this is an emotional moment. PM Modi said that his experience used to become a matter of concern for opposition friends.

This experience of his became a matter of concern for the opposition friends.

PM said that M. Venkaiah Naidu could have been the first Chairman who knew how to make the House more efficient and do his best for the country. The Parliamentary Committee has to be made more productive and result-oriented. We must remember their advice. 

PM Modi further said that one of his sorrows during his election as Vice President was to resign from the party due to constitutional requirements, but I think Venkaiah ji will definitely hide his absence of 5 years. His work to inspire, encourage and reward all veteran members will continue.
