BSP supremo Mayawati has expelled Rakesh Kushwaha, the candidate for Jhansi-Lalitpur Lok Sabha seat, from the party on charges of anti-party activities and indiscipline, just days before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

BSP Chief Mayawati has made a bold move just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, expelling Rakesh Kushwaha, the recently announced candidate for the Jhansi-Lalitpur Lok Sabha seat, from the party. The decision comes amidst allegations of anti-party activities and indiscipline against Kushwaha. Additionally, Mayawati has removed BSP's Jhansi District President, Amarpal Ahirwar, and appointed BK Gautam as the new district president.

The new district president, BK Gautam, issued a statement confirming Kushwaha's expulsion from the party due to the allegations against him. Kushwaha's candidacy for the upcoming elections has also been revoked. This sudden action by Mayawati has sparked discussions within political circles, prompting speculation about the party's choice for the candidate in the upcoming polls.
