The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Puebla maintains an open investigation against Ángel Rodríguez Mora, a 30-year-old bodybuilder, accused of the alleged murder of his parents and the injuries caused to his younger brother inside a home located in the city of Cholula, Puebla.
According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of San Pedro Cholula, municipal police officers went to the home after receiving a report about the aggressive behavior of a man.
Upon entering the property they found three members of a family with various injuries; Paramedics confirmed the death of the parents of the alleged attacker, while the younger brother was transferred to a hospital to receive specialized medical care. Ángel was arrested at the scene and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
They investigate messages and videos spread before the attack
As part of the investigations, authorities are reviewing videos and publications shared by the suspect on social networks hours before the crime.
In one of the recordings, the man broadcast messages of religious content and invited followers to come to his home, material that is now part of the investigation.
According to various media such as the weekly Proceso, in another message the now detained man assured that he was acting on a supposed divine mission and stated that “Jesus Christ” had entrusted him to “clean the area”, statements whose authenticity and context are also analyzed by the authorities.
Ángel presented himself on social networks as a bodybuilding coach, sports nutritionist and specialist in pharmacology applied to training. In addition to sharing content related to bodybuilding, he disseminated publications of a religious and motivational nature.
National media indicate that one of the lines of investigation contemplates possible problems related to substance consumption and apparent erratic behavior prior to the events; However, the authorities have not officially confirmed the motive for the attack or the results of the corresponding expert reports.
The Puebla Prosecutor's Office continues to collect evidence to clarify the circumstances of the double homicide and the injuries caused to the minor, while the detainee faces the investigation for his responsibility in the events.
