The bodies of two men were located this Wednesday on the side of the highway that goes to the port of Acapulco, in Guerrero, in a new act of violence recorded in the middle of the holiday season.
According to the first reports, the discovery occurred in the municipality of Chilpancingo and just a few meters from the National Guard facilities.
The victims were found abandoned on the shoulder of the road. State and federal authorities went to the scene to cordon off the area and begin the corresponding investigations.
According to Mexican media such as the La Silla Rota site, a message was found next to the remains indicating that these men were linked to the criminal group known as “Los Tlacos.”
The Tlacos, also known as the Sierra Cartel, are a criminal organization with a presence in the central, northern and Sierra regions of Guerrero.
So far, the identity of the victims has not been confirmed and there has been no information about any arrests related to the case.
The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), where they will remain waiting to be identified by their relatives.
The double homicide adds to the acts of violence recorded in Guerrero during the current vacation period, one of the seasons with the highest tourist influx in the entity, particularly in destinations such as Acapulco and the Central region.
The authorities continue with the investigations to clarify the motive for the crime and find those responsible.
