The 53rd ceremony of the International Film Festival of India will be held in Goa this year. This festival is going to be held from 20 to 28 November, in which 280 films from 79 countries will be screened. The Austrian film Alma and Oskar, directed by Dieter Berner, will open the festival. The red carpet for the opening of the film will begin at 2 pm at INOX-I, Panjim, followed by the screening of the film. The festival will end with the perfect number from the Polish film Krzysztof Janusi. Mercedes is a 2022 film Fixation Mid-Fest film by Bryce Morgan set in Germany, Canada and USA.

25 feature films from India will be screened

25 feature films and 19 non-feature films from India will be screened at 'Indian Panorama', while 183 films will be part of the international programming. A special section has been kept for 52nd Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Asha Parekh in this festival, in which there will be screening of Teesri Manzil, Do Badan and Kati Patang. To mark the completion of 50 years of Manipuri cinema, a specially designed package of five feature and five non-feature films curated by the Manipur State Films Development Society is being screened under Indian Panorama.

Golden Jubilee of Manipuri cinema will be celebrated

As an initiative to promote films from Northeast India, 5 feature and 5 non-feature films will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Manipuri Cinema. There will be a special screening of Pan Nalin's Chhelo Show - The Last Film Show, which has got an entry in the Oscars and Madhur Bhandarkar's India Lockdown. Spanish film director Carlos Saura will be honored with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. His daughter Anna Saura will accept the award on behalf of the iconic filmmaker at the ceremony. France is the 'Spotlight' country and 8 films will be screened under the Country Focus package.

Many Hindi films and web series will be screened

To support and promote cinema, there will be many gala premieres of Hindi films, in which their actors will be present. These include Paresh Rawal's The Storyteller, Ajay Devgan and Tabu's Drishyam 2, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's Bhediya and Yami Gautam's Lost. Upcoming Telugu films Remo, Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin's Goldfish and Randeep Hooda and Ileana D'Cruz's Tera Kya Hoga Lovely will also premiere at IFFI. Along with this, episodes of OTT shows like Vadhandhi, Khakee and Fauda Season 4 will also be shown.
