The Mexican host Galilea Montijo broke the silence about one of the most difficult chapters of her life in terms of health, caused by a poorly executed aesthetic procedure.

In a heartfelt conversation with Dr. Marimar Guerra for her podcast “Bajo la Piel,” the host of the “Hoy” program spoke like never before about the series of medical problems that affected the movement of her mouth and eye, making her the target of criticism through social networks.

According to Montijo's testimony, it all started last February, when he underwent surgery to slightly lift his eyebrow and contour his neck. However, the surgery triggered inflammation that would take its toll days later thanks to a second and third degree burn.

Dr. Marimar Guerra explained that the inflammation ended up irritating a nerve and leading to loss of mobility: “It's not that the nerve was injured, it's that it was so inflamed that the nerve was irritated,” she explained.

Regarding these moments of uncertainty, the Mexican presenter said: "When I feel like I can't control my mouth or my eyes... of course, memes are wonderful, but it gave me a lot of pain... I turn to you."

Furthermore, he confessed that beyond the physical pain, the hardest thing to endure was the emotional impact: "My peace of mind was what I lost the most. Seeing how they laughed, how they made memes... it's not worth laughing at someone's pain," he lamented.

Despite this bitter pill, Galilea Montijo concluded her interview by assuring that she remains in favor of aesthetic procedures, as long as they are carried out by professionals.

“Yes, I still trust in surgeries and I continue to be pro-surgery, but, definitely, I want to age beautifully, as naturally as possible,” he stated.
