Sean Penn, famous Hollywood actor and director, announced that his next film project consists of directing a film where the central theme will be the attack on the Capitol five years ago.

In a report presented at the time by Jack Smith, former special prosecutor in relation to his investigation into Donald Trump, he points out that there was sufficient evidence to convict the current president of the nation of electoral subversion.

A 174-page concentrate provides detailed details about how the 78-year-old New Yorker allegedly tried to prevent the transfer of power after the 2020 election and, when his strategy failed, he encouraged a mob of his supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021, with the aim of preventing the recognition of Joe Biden as the winner of the election.

Smith assured that, based on the findings detected during his investigation, he and his team raised the idea of ​​accusing Trump of violating the Civil War-era Insurrection Act, which would have prevented him from holding elective office.

However, after the victory of the Republican magnate in the 2024 elections, history took a turn, as all the lawsuits against him vanished.

Taking as a reference what happened at the Capitol in 2021, Warner Bros. announced that Sean Penn will direct a film about a police officer who was present at the riots.

Although there is still no title for the film, it emerged that he is negotiating with Bradley Cooper to star in it.

In 2022, Sean Penn attended hearings held by the House Select Committee as part of the investigation related to the attack on the Capitol.

The director was even caught sitting between Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges, officers of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police. who responded to the attacks.

While Fanone declared that upon arriving at the scene of the events and was “grabbed, beaten and subjected to electric shocks, while they called him a traitor to his country”; while Hodges also reported having been subjected to severe attacks.
