As explained by the singer's spokesperson, the determination responds to the intention of closing this professional cycle "in a healthy and happy way" before moving away from work that involves constant exposure in front of the cameras.
“She is looking forward to finishing the tour on a high, healthy and happy, and then taking a well-deserved break from her work and public appearances, which have subjected her to constant and incessant public scrutiny,” the representative said.
Those close to the performer also highlighted that her presentations require great physical effort and athletic skill night after night.
As a direct consequence of this pause, it was confirmed that Grande will no longer be part of the long-awaited theater production “Sunday in the Park with George”, Stephen Sondheim's classic musical that planned to premiere next summer at the Barbican Center in London and in which she would share the spotlight with actor Jonathan Bailey, her co-star in the film adaptation of “Wicked.”
The announcement coincides with the recent release of “Petal”, their eighth studio album released on July 31. According to close sources, this new album represents an anthem about the complex and toxic relationship between the artist and media attention.
