Swift's fans noticed on Friday night that the song from the album “Folklore” (2020) had been removed from the video. On the US version of TikTok, a message appears stating: “This sound has not been made available in your country by the copyright holder.”
This isn't the first Trump campaign video to lose access to Swift's music. A Team Trump video that included the song “Father Figure,” released on Nov. 6, 2025, also saw its audio removed.
However, the removal has not been uniform: A video posted a day ago featuring a cover of Swift's "Red" still has its audio track available, and a video on the White House's official TikTok account from last November is still accompanied by the soundtrack of Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia."
A history of confrontations
The incident adds to a long history of tensions between Swift and Trump. In September 2024, Trump posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on social media after the singer announced her intention to vote for Kamala Harris for president of the United States.
Swift then wrote: “I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them.”
At the time, Trump suggested in an interview with Fox Business that he wasn't worried about Swift suing him over the fake images, saying "they were all made up by other people."
