Despite Rosalía's public apology for the video that unleashed the anger of Argentines after the 2026 World Cup final, the controversy continues to generate consequences. The last episode: the cancellation of a symphony concert in his honor that would be held in Córdoba.

The event, titled “Rosalia Tribute in Concert – Symphonic Ensemble”, was scheduled at the Metropolitan Museum of Urban Art (MMAU). However, the organizers decided to suspend it after receiving a wave of messages of hate and rejection towards the Spanish singer.

It is an independent project by Argentine producers in tribute to the singer due to the proximity of her concerts. But the tension generated on social networks put the safety of the musicians at risk, so they decided to cancel.

"We are part of a town where soccer is not just a sport, it is part of our identity. We understand the anger," explained the producers, who clarified that the project began to be planned four months ago, before the controversy.

What caused the controversy?

A day after Argentina lost 1-0 against Spain in the World Cup final, Rosalía shared a video of Mia Khalifa on TikTok with the phrase: “How life sounds now that the pearls have been defeated,” which many interpreted as a mockery of the Albiceleste.

Faced with criticism, the singer deleted the video and apologized: "I gave it a share because 'La Perla' was playing and I didn't even read what it said, my bad. Sorry. I only have love for Argentina."

But his apologies were not enough. The cancellation of the tribute in Córdoba is the first tangible consequence, while uncertainty persists about their four concerts scheduled in Buenos Aires (August 1, 2, 4 and 6), where some fans have already expressed their intention to return the tickets.

This cancellation shows that the discomfort transcends the artist and reaches everything around her, even projects not directly linked to her, and the apology failed to appease the anger of a country where soccer is passion and pride.
