Ankita Murder Case: There is a situation of future tension in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand regarding the Ankita Murder case. Earlier, on Sunday morning, agitated people blocked the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway for eight and a half hours. Now a big disclosure has been made in the post-mortem report. If sources are to be believed, it is clear in the post-mortem report that Ankita was first beaten with a heavy object and then pushed into the canal. Late in the evening, Ankita's last rites took place on the banks of Alaknanda river in Srinagar of Pauri district after assurance from the administration.

Let us tell you that Ankita's funeral was to be held on Sunday itself. But the relatives had refused the last rites, saying that Ankita's funeral will not be done until the post-mortem investigation is completed and it is not made public. However, after persuading the administration, he agreed to perform the last rites. According to the post-mortem report, Ankita died due to drowning in water. He has been beaten with some heavy object before being pushed. Injury marks were also found on his body. There is no mention of rape in the report.

The protesters were demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore from the government to Ankita's family and a job for a family member. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami again reiterated that the state government will give the harshest punishment to the culprits of the heinous murder. All the actions are taking place on time. There will be no hesitation anywhere. He said that the matter will be heard in the fast track court.

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar assured Ankita Bhandari's father that the killers of his daughter would be given capital punishment. Kumar gave this assurance to Virendra Singh Bhandari over the phone. Ashok Kumar said that the guilty will not be spared. He said that the police is doing its job with utmost sincerity and evidence will be found. SIT is probing the matter.
